Out of the two you requested to be critiqued, I think I have to choose this one, because it impacted me far more then the flower, based simply on the fact that you can see the coil of it's (forgive me I have absolutely no idea what that is, I wiki'ed it and I googled it but I'm just not very schooled in the ways of butterflies, so this word here, please don't let that reflect too strongly on my intelligence, I'm pretty sure that's what it's called, the internet has never lied before, has it? xD ) &#039roboscis' underneath it's eyes quite clearly - it's amazing when you can see such a detailed part of an insect as clear as day - for the most part, any kind of insect, beautiful or not, gives me the willies, but here you can see how soft it's body must be, the dust on it's wings, the startling, brilliant colors it presents, and how fragile it really must be.
You've cropped the photograph nicely, and while I am not the biggest fan of macro photography for any kind of bug, you can see the extent of the effort you must have went through to take this picture.
Butterflies are very flamboyant, it would be impossible to get one to mesh correctly with it's surroundings, even in nature, so I can't comment on how the green clashes with the yellow because it's drab - your crop is beautiful, there isn't enough negative space to be distracting, and your focal point was dead on here.
Excellent job overall, it must have been a challenge to get a shot of this little guy - I'm glad you shared
