OUTSIDE LOOKING IN

This is a really nice subject. I like the overall composition, the fact that this is such a close shot and the outer parts of the petals are cut off. The only part that seems a little off about that is the fact that the lower right corner is in focus. That distracts just a little from the centre.

The part where you could improve this picture is the lighting. I assume that this was shot with an on camera flash and thus the result is not as good as it could be. For example, the left side is almost all 'hidden' by shadows, even the centre part of the flower, and the main subject. You could try to use a blank sheet of paper to reflect some of the flashlight around the side of the flower, or maybe use a soft-box to spread out the light source a bit.
